In keeping with the fashionable tradition of conferring Dog-Latin monikers upon electoral laws, this immediately became “porcellum”. In this way, Calderoli, former Reforms Minister, effectively declared the current electoral system in Italy to be a dirty business. Although, as Italians, we would prefer more politically correct terminology, we must admit that our system is thus diseased.
