Belarus and Azerbaijan: two dictatorships in touch with the EU
Inside the Eastern Partnership (EaP), a collaborative framework between the EU and six neighbouring countries (Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan), different dynamics and different expectations towards the EU can be observed. In particular, some of these countries, like Azerbaijan and Belarus, are much more unlike the EU than others. What can a closer look at these two authoritarian states reveal?
