Youth engagement experts gather in Portimão to prepare joint European elections campaign

As the public launch of the European Youth Together: Road to the Future project nears, youth engagement and communications experts from various organisations, companies and institutions gathered in Portimão, Portugal to pull the strings together last week. The meeting was dedicated to reviewing European Youth Together project plans, and tools to be used in the ‘I Choose Europe’ European election campaign led by JEF Europe together with partners.

A rebirth of European federalism in Slovenia?

Scintillating mountains and Alpine lakes, emerald hills as far as the eye can see, turquoise rivers and a Venetian littoral: Slovenia has undoubtedly known how to place itself on the touristic map of Europe. In Brussels and European chancelleries, on the contrary, Ljubljana remains one of the least-known capitals as regards its identity, values and policies. The country, member of the European Union since 2004 and of the Eurozone and Schengen Area since 2007, is rarely heard about in debates on the continent’s future – what if the time has come?

Union of European Federalists elects Sandro Gozi as new president

At its Congress in Vienna, the Union of European Federalists (UEF) has elected Sandro Gozi as its new President. Gozi, 50, was a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies from 2006 to 2018, and served as the Europe minister between 2014 and 2018. Sandro Gozi replaces Elmar Brok, the German MEP who had held the UEF presidency since 2013.
