Letter to Europe : The Treaty of Aachen jeopardises the EU’s seat on the Security Council
56 years after the Élysée Treaty, Germany and France signed the Treaty of Aachen. This established the further deepening of Franco-German cooperation. The treaty is good – but it abandons the idea of an EU seat on the UN Security Council, and that is the wrong way to go.
